Alex will focus on the role for concessional finance in kick-starting emerging technologies, with a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges in supporting the nascent renewable hydrogen industry in Australia.
Senior Investment Analyst in the Business Development and Transactions team with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)
Alex has significant experience supporting the financing of renewable energy projects, from established technologies such as solar and wind, with a more recent focus on supporting the scale up of Australia’s renewable hydrogen industry.Alex graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). During university studies, Alex worked full time at PwC leading renewable energy transactions and providing advice for project developers, financiers and government on renewable energy opportunities. More recently, Alex has structured multiple grant investments on behalf of the Federal government into renewable hydrogen projects including fuel cell electric vehicles, novel electrolyser technologies, hydrogen gas blending and ammonia production. Alex has a keen passion in supporting projects that will make a tangible contribution to Australia’s decarbonisation pathway. Alex is also the current Co-Chair of the Sydney Young Energy Professionals (part of the Australian Institute of Energy
