Ollie is Head of Process Engineering at Costain Group, with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His career began at Mitsui Babcock, where he was an understudy to the combustion technical authority, focusing on supercritical boilers. He then joined Black & Veatch, a role which provided him with a solid foundation in various aspects of classical chemical engineering, before transitioning into a role as a process engineering consultant. In recent years, he has worked on projects relating to the energy transition, including gasification of waste plastics to produce hydrogen, direct air capture initiatives, CO2 sequestration through injection into production wells, and the design of hydrogen and CO2 gathering pipelines in the Teesside cluster. He also co-founded AFBE-UK, a nationwide not-for-profit organisation that inspires underrepresented individuals to pursue engineering careers.
