Through personal stories and open discussion, our panellists will share the unique challenges and opportunities to promote understanding and awareness. The session will also delve into how workplaces can support neurodivergent individuals—through inclusive practices and thoughtful design. Attendees will leave with practical insights and key takeaways on how to foster environments that empower neurodivergent colleagues to thrive.

Dr Emma Goodall was the inaugural Director of South Australia’s Office for Autism which sits within the Department for Premier and Cabinet, delivering a state autism charter and practical outcomes for autistic individuals in South Australia. Now the Director, Training and Research, Emma is applying research to policy to ensure effective changes are made and communicated inclusively for the whole community. Emma has worked extensively in the areas of autism, education, research and public policy and teacher training across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and mainland Europe. Emma is also an auDHD researcher, public speaker, author, and consultant.

Dr. Alison Nuske has over 20 years’ experience in the disability, education, and higher education sector, specialising in disability, access, and inclusion. She has extensive knowledge of Disability Discrimination legislation and Disability Standards for Education.
Alison’s PhD explored the experiences of autistic students during their transition to and first year at university in Australia, providing practical recommendations for improving the transition and first year experiences of autistic students.
Alison is deeply committed to enhancing the inclusion of neurodivergent individuals and increasing community awareness, understanding, and acceptance of neurodivergence.
Alison has extensive experience in Autism, Neurodiversity, Disability, Disability Awareness, Access and Inclusion, Disability in Higher Education, First Year Experience and Transition, as well as Qualitative Research and Analysis.
Prof Colin Raston

Professor Colin Raston AO FAA FRACI CChem FRSC is a South Australia Premier's Professorial Research Fellow in Clean Technology. He completed a PhD under the guidance of Professor Allan White, and after postdoctoral studies with Professor Michael Lappert at the University of Sussex, he was appointed a lecturer at The University of Western Australia (1981) then to Chairs of Chemistry at Griffith University (1988), Monash University (1995), The University of Leeds (2001), and The University of Western Australia (2003). He is a former President, Queensland Branch President, and Chair of the Inorganic Division, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. His current research covers clean technology and green chemistry, process intensification, nanotechnology and self-assembly, and is currently on the editorial advisory editorial boards of the journals Green Chemistry and RSC Advances (Royal Society of Chemistry), and on the editorial board of Crystal Growth and Design (American Chemical Society).
