Liquid metal alloy catalyst in propanedehydrogenation

2:15 PM - 2:30 PM

Abstract

My Linh Phuong received her Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours)degree from RMIT University, Australia in 2023. She graduated with First Class Honoursand was the runner up for the best final year chemical engineering design project (PrattPrize 2024) in Victoria. After graduating, she started her PhD study at RMIT University in2024 focusing on liquid metal catalysts for low emmision applications. The objectives in hercurrent study is to furtheer explore the catalytic activity of liquid metal alloy in propanedehydrogenation and hydrogenation as well as the new design of bimetallic or multimetallicalloy nanoparticales fabrication method.

Understanding the impact of the gas diffusion layer structure on catalyst utilization in the PEM water electrolyser

2:30 PM - 2:45 PM

Abstract

Yuyao Huang is a doctoral candidate at the University of Auckland after obtaining his master's degree and bachelor's degree from the Department of Metallurgy Engineering, at Northeastern University. He has a background in materials and metallurgy, especially in scrap aluminum and aluminum alloys, research experience in the electrochemistry behavior of ions, nucleation and growth of aluminum on electrodes, and electrolysis cell design. At present Yuyao is engaged in research in green hydrogen production and water electrolysis cell design.

Mechanism-Informed Reaction Environment Engineering for Selective C3+ Formation in CO2 Electroreduction: Progress and Perspectives

2:45 PM - 3:00 PM

Abstract

My research centers on the computational design and discovery of efficient, low-cost catalysts for sustainable energy applications, using first-principles calculations and high-throughput screening techniques. I specialize in electrocatalysis, with complementary experience in photocatalysis, and focus on reactions central to the Water, Carbon, and Nitrogen cycles, including: Hydrogen Evolution (HER) and Hydrogen Oxidation (HOR), Oxygen Evolution (OER) and Oxygen Reduction (ORR), Carbon Dioxide Reduction (CO2RR) and Nitrogen Reduction (NRR)
